Dinosaur Caves Park is an oceanfront bluff-top park popular with walkers, photographers, dog lovers, joggers and fishing enthusiasts. The park includes a wedding overlook as well as a grassy reception area and an amphitheater for entertainment events. The park also offers a large unique play area that includes two concrete dolphins, Oreo the Orca Whale, a ship named USS IMAGINATION, three beautiful dinosaur eggs, one gentle dinosaur, and three playful seals. There is also a tire swing and a tot swing in the play area. Chumash Park is another pride of Pismo Beach with winding trails meandering through wetlands, willows, oaks and other natural features. The park is a magnet for walkers and dog lovers alike and is has a tot lot and restrooms available to the public. Finally, Pismo Beach offers Beach Volleyball Courts North of Pier. These sand volleyball courts offer a breath-taking view of the ocean and the pier. Enjoy the soft ocean breeze while playing with your friends. Local events at Pismo Beach are always a bash! The Springtime Concert Series provides great music at Dinosaur Caves Park. This event will take place at Dinosaur Caves Park on Sunday, March 29th from 1:00-4:00pm. Dinosaur Caves Park is holding Art in the Park for the third year in a row. This event promotes local artisans of the Central Coast. This event takes place on the first Sunday of every month, May through October with over seventy local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work including paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Along with the sale of fine arts, the event offers live music, hands-on children's activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ, and on-site massage. 10 am â 4 pm at Dinosaur Caves Park. Pismo Beach has a wide variety of local attractions ranging from beach front parks to the Pismo Beach Winery and the Monarch Butterfly Grove. One of Pismo Beachâs most beautiful attractions is the Monarch Butterfly Grove. From late October through February the "Butterfly Trees" are blanketed with thousands of colorful Monarch butterflies clustered in the limbs of Eucalyptus and Monterey Pines in the area, giving the appearance of yellow and orange leaves. The butterflies travel over the Sierra Mountains and west of the Rockies, although some come from as far away as Canada to escape the colder temperatures of the north.
